3 June 2009: EU MACC project starts
The EU MACC project gets underway. MACC (Modelling Atmospheric Composition and Climate) is a 48-partner EU project following on from GEMS to build an operational global and regional analysis and modelling system to monitor and predict variations in atmospheric constituents that force climate change and influence air quality. Our role in the project is to implement the GLOMAP-mode aerosol scheme in the ECMWF model. GLOMAP-mode will then be available as an operational product to monitor air quality and climate effects of aerosol.
